Cross-media recommendations across film, TV, games, books & music — picked by taste.

Allegiant closes a story about a young woman whose world has been upended by violence, power struggles, and betrayal. When Tris and Tobias cross beyond the city's boundaries, the new reality they find is more alarming than the one they left. Old certainties dissolve, explosive truths reshape the people she loves, and Tris must again wrestle with courage, allegiance, and sacrifice. The taste it signals: dystopian worlds with institutional rot at their core, relationships tested by divided loyalties, and protagonists who must weigh personal love against collective sacrifice.

Frequently asked

What should I read after Allegiant?

Try The Fire Sermon, a post-apocalyptic YA trilogy with the same society-fracturing stakes, or Sever, which shares Allegiant's urgent race-against-the-clock energy and a protagonist fighting to survive a broken system.

What TV shows are like Allegiant?

The Innocents and Fallen both follow teenagers discovering they're fundamentally different from everyone around them, then fleeing into a world that wants to control or contain them — much like Tris's journey beyond the fence.

Are there games with the kind of faction loyalty and identity questions in Allegiant?

1000xResist blends big-idea sci-fi with coming-of-age identity struggles, while Black Closet puts you inside a world of hidden allegiances and political maneuvering — both reward the same moral-complexity instincts that make Allegiant compelling.
