Brooke Langton
Brooke Langton is an actor, born 1970.
Modelling paid for the move. Brooke Langton, born in Arizona in 1970 and raised in Illinois and Texas, worked as a model before acting, largely in Japan, and turned up on American television early: the teen sitcom California Dreams as Kimberly Blanchard, a bit part in Terminal Velocity, a guest slot on The Single Guy.
Melrose Place is what defined the decade for her. She played Samantha Reilly from 1996 to 1998, walking into an established prime time soap that had already worked out exactly what it was, which is a harder assignment than launching one. She followed it by leading The Net from 1998 to 1999, a USA Network thriller series adapted from the 1995 film, taking on the role Sandra Bullock had originated. That series is not among the credits listed here.
The films are mostly comedies in which she is the competent adult in the room. The Replacements is the biggest, as the female lead opposite Keanu Reeves in a football comedy that has aged into a cable staple. Swingers gave her a small part as Nikki in a film that became a generational calling card. The Benchwarmers and Partner(s) are broader, Primeval is a creature feature, and The Debt is the later, quieter kind of work.
Television has stayed the better medium. She had substantial guest runs on Friday Night Lights and on Life, playing a lawyer who becomes a deputy district attorney, and the credits continue through The Good Cop and the forthcoming Thieves Highway.

Where to start with Brooke Langton
Most people arrive by way of The Replacements, and it holds up better than a football comedy from 2000 has any right to. Annabelle is written as a prize and Langton plays her as a person with a job, which is most of why the romance in that film works at all.
For television, go to Life. Constance Griffiths is the most interesting part on this page, a lawyer opposite a detective with an unusual worldview, and the show gave her room to be sharp rather than decorative. Melrose Place is the historical record, best sampled rather than marathoned, and worth it to see how quickly she found her footing in a cast that gave newcomers nothing.
Swingers is the two minute cameo in a film worth watching anyway. Primeval and The Benchwarmers are for a specific mood and you will know when you are in it.
