Deborah Ann Woll
Deborah Ann Woll is an actor, born 1985.
Two long television runs account for most of her reputation, and they are close to opposites. Jessica Hamby in True Blood, from 2008 to 2014, is a newly made vampire written as pure appetite and confusion, and the part earned her a Screen Actors Guild nomination. Karen Page, across five Marvel projects between 2015 and 2026, has no powers and no fangs, just a reporter who will not let a question go.
Karen is the better demonstration of what she can do. In a franchise built on people hitting each other, she plays moral stubbornness, the character who keeps asking the thing everyone else has quietly agreed to stop asking, and she gives it a physical nervousness that stops it reading as sanctimony. Daredevil, from 2015 to 2018, is where it works best. The Punisher, The Defenders, Daredevil: Born Again and the 2026 film The Punisher: One Last Kill extend it.
The film work splits evenly between genre and independent: Mother's Day (2010), Catch.44 (2011), Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You, Ruby Sparks (2012), Escape Room (2019) and its 2021 sequel as Amanda Harper, Ida Red (2021), and Gladys Gillem in the wrestling picture Queen of the Ring (2025).
Then there is a third career most actors do not have. She appears as herself on Adventuring Academy, plays a character in Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill!, and is by now roughly as familiar to the tabletop roleplaying audience as to the Marvel one.

Where to start with Deborah Ann Woll
Television is where the good stuff is. Marvel's Daredevil first, and specifically for the office scenes rather than the fights: Karen is how the series asks whether any of the violence is worth it, and Woll makes that a person rather than a position.
True Blood is the other essential and a completely different job, gleefully unsubtle where the Marvel work is restrained. Start at the beginning and let Jessica change the show's temperature.
Daredevil: Born Again continues the story and is the current one. Marvel's The Punisher gives her the most to do of the spin-offs.
Escape Room is the best of the films, an efficient puzzle-box thriller that does not waste her, and Ruby Sparks is the smallest and smartest thing on the list. Queen of the Ring is the recent one and worth it for the subject alone. If you want the version of her that the tabletop audience knows, Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! is where to look.
