Eamon Farren
Eamon Farren is an actor, born 1985.
Two lead roles in small Australian films got him noticed: X in 2011, also known as X: Night of Vengeance, and Chained a year later, in which he carries almost the whole picture. An AACTA-winning turn in the television film Carlotta followed in 2014, and then came the job that moved him internationally, Richard Horne in the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.
Farren is cast, almost without exception, as the thing that is wrong in the frame. He played Cust in The ABC Murders, Ben Block in Winchester, the title role in T.I.M., and Satan in Mary. The most visible of these is Cahir in Netflix's The Witcher, a part that has to act through fantasy armour, which is harder than the genre usually gets credit for.
The straight parts are rarer and worth noting because they show he can do the other thing. He is Luke in Lion, and John Brailsford in the excavation drama The Dig. Jimmy in Harmony and Richard in Jimpa are the smaller recent credits.
He works steadily rather than famously, and the roles keep arriving from horror, fantasy and prestige crime in roughly equal measure. Addition, due in 2026, is the next of them.

Where to start with Eamon Farren
Most people arrive through The Witcher, and there is nothing wrong with that, but Cahir is a slow burn spread across seasons rather than a performance you can sample.
For a concentrated dose, Chained is the real starting point. It is unpleasant, small in scale and built around him, and it explains why casting directors kept calling him for damaged men. The ABC Murders is the more approachable version of the same instinct, a period crime piece that finds the sympathetic edge of his usual register.
For the corrective, watch Lion and The Dig, where he is asked to be ordinary and manages it without going invisible. Winchester and Mary are the paycheque end of the horror work, and T.I.M. is the interesting failure, a film with one good idea and him doing the heavy lifting on it.
