She anchored ABC's newsmagazine 20/20 and the network's news specials for fourteen years, moved on 28 May 2018 to A&E Networks as lead investigative reporter and documentary anchor, hosted Fox's 2021 revival of America's Most Wanted, and now anchors Elizabeth Vargas Reports on NewsNation out of New York.
Her credit list is what happens when a news anchor gets catalogued alongside actors. 20/20 and World News Tonight are her actual job rather than performances, and the years attached to those rows, 1978 and 1948, are the franchises' start dates, not hers. America's Most Wanted is not among the credits listed here.
