Emmanuelle Chriqui
Emmanuelle Chriqui is an actor, born 1975.
Sloan McQuewick ran for seven years, from 2004 to 2011, and it is still the first thing anyone says about Emmanuelle Chriqui. Entourage cast her as the girlfriend the show kept orbiting and she did something quietly difficult with it: she played Sloan as a person with a life happening off screen rather than as a reward the plot was withholding. She came back for the 2015 film.
The Montreal-born, Canadian-American career started well before that, mostly in teen and horror pictures: Barbara in Detroit Rock City in 1999, Claire Bonner in Snow Day in 2000, Patty in 100 Girls, Carly in Wrong Turn in 2003, Tyla in Waiting. Then Dalia in You Don't Mess with the Zohan in 2008, and Revetta Chess in Cadillac Records the same year, which is the most interesting thing on the list and the one nobody mentions.
Television is where she has been given whole characters. Lorelei Martins on The Mentalist from 2013 to 2015, Dr. Lila Kyle on The Passage, and Lana Lang on Superman & Lois from 2021 to 2024, a part that asks for warmth, resentment and competence in roughly equal measure and gets all three. She also has a solid voice run: Cheetara in ThunderCats, Page in TRON: Uprising, Sapphire Stagg in Beware the Batman.
Forty-eight credits, thirty-one of them films, and most of those films are smaller than she is.

Where to start with Emmanuelle Chriqui
Seven years of Entourage is a big ask if you have no nostalgia for it, so a fair compromise is the early stretch plus Entourage. That is enough to see what she was doing with a part that could easily have been furniture.
The better starting point now is Superman & Lois. Lana Lang there is written as a grown woman with her own life rather than as somebody's memory of one, and Chriqui plays her without a trace of the wistfulness that role usually attracts. It is the most complete thing on her record.
The Mentalist is for people who like an actor to be unreadable. Lorelei Martins only works if you cannot tell what she is doing, and Chriqui keeps her opaque without making it a performance of opacity.
For film, Cadillac Records is the pick, a small part in a good picture rather than a large part in a weak one. You Don't Mess with the Zohan is the widest-seen and exactly what it looks like. Wrong Turn and TRON: Uprising cover the horror and voice corners.
