Eric DaRe
Eric DaRe is an actor, born 1965.
Eric DaRe grew up inside the industry. His father was the actor Aldo DaRe, who worked under the name Aldo Ray, and his mother is the casting director Johanna Ray, a long-standing David Lynch collaborator. That connection runs through his own career on screen and behind it, since he has also worked in other departments on Lynch films.
His part is Leo Johnson in Twin Peaks, the small-town criminal at the ugly end of the show's mythology, played across the series and again in the prequel film Fire Walk with Me. It is a difficult performance to like, which is the point: DaRe gives Leo a stillness that makes the character read as genuinely dangerous rather than theatrical, and never asks the audience for sympathy.
The rest is a short list. He played Tyrone in the 1990 Flash series, Bernie in Critters 4, and small parts in Playing God, Ted Bundy and Into the Homeland, where the credit reads Male Surfer Number One. He was born in Los Angeles in 1965.

Where to start with Eric DaRe
Everything here routes through one show. Watch Twin Peaks and pay attention to how much of the town's dread is carried by Leo Johnson in scenes that are often very short.
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is the harder companion piece, a film that strips the comedy out of the series and leaves the rest, and DaRe is in it. Outside the Lynch world the pickings are slim without being dull: Critters 4 is late-sequel science fiction with him as Bernie, The Flash is early superhero television, Playing God a nineties crime picture, and Ted Bundy a low-budget true-crime film in which he has a small part.
