Where to start with Frank Deal
Go to Eighth Grade first, and not because the part is large: it is the best film here, and his scene is a clean example of what he is for, an adult institution talking at a child. Then The Outsider, where the register is bleaker and he has more to do.
Manifest is the widest-reach credit, a network mystery series with him as a captain. Non-Stop is the airborne thriller, The Bay the found-footage horror in which he plays the mayor of the town it happens to, and Manhattan Night the neo-noir. Wildling is the oddest of them. None of it replaces the theatre work, which is where his career actually lives.
