Greta Lee
Greta Lee is an actor, born 1983.
Greta Lee was born in Los Angeles in 1983 and built her career in the theatre first. She made her Broadway debut in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2007, appeared in the 2010 revival of La Bete on Broadway and in the West End, and played Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles at Lincoln Center in 2011. Screen work arrived in small comic doses: Soo Jin in Girls, Kai in New Girl, High Maintenance, and then Maxine in Russian Doll, a friend who is very funny and slightly unreliable and who got her noticed.
The Morning Show changed the terms. Stella Bak let her play power rather than charm, a role that asks her to hold a room rather than charm it, and it brought a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Then Past Lives, which is the performance the rest of the career will be measured against. As Nora she spends most of the film managing two languages, two selves and a conversation she cannot allow herself to have, and she plays a startling amount of it in reaction rather than dialogue. It brought a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Since then she has moved between studio and independent work: Eve Kim in Tron: Ares, Ana Park in A House of Dynamite, Dalia in Problemista, LYLA in Across the Spider-Verse, and a version of herself in The Studio.

Where to start with Greta Lee
Give Past Lives its due as the obvious starting point. Nora is running two languages and two versions of herself at once, and Lee plays most of it in silence and reaction, which is far harder than the dialogue would suggest.
Follow it with Russian Doll for the register that got her cast for a decade, then The Morning Show, where Stella Bak gave her authority to play instead of charm and is the most interesting thing in several of its seasons.
Girls and New Girl are tiny early parts worth a look purely for how quickly she works. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the voice credit almost everyone has heard without knowing it, and Problemista is the strangest and funniest of her supporting turns.
