Grey DeLisle

Grey DeLisle, credited variously as Grey DeLisle-Griffin and Grey Griffin, is one of the most heavily worked voice actors in American animation, and she is also a comedian and a singer songwriter. She has voiced Daphne Blake across the Scooby-Doo franchise since 2000, and her recurring roster includes Vicky and Tootie in The Fairly OddParents, Mandy in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Frankie Foster in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Sam Manson in Danny Phantom, Kimiko in Xiaolin Showdown and Emily Elizabeth in Clifford the Big Red Dog.

The reason she gets hired so often is that she can put menace into a pleasant voice. Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender is the definitive example: the character almost never shouts, and DeLisle plays her as someone with total confidence and perfect manners, which is far more frightening than screaming would be. Mandy is the same instinct pushed to a flat, affectless monotone that has no interest in your feelings at all.

She works at the other end of the range just as easily, playing boys, mothers, grandmothers and narrators, sometimes several within one production. On The Simpsons she voices Martin Prince. On Adventure Time she is the Ice Queen. In Invincible she plays Shrinking Rae and Monster Girl, and in The Legend of Korra she is Ming-Hua.

Her DC animated credits are equally deep, taking in Barbara Gordon in Batman: Year One and Lois Lane in Justice League: Doom.
