Hal Fishman
Hal Fishman is an actor, born 1931.
Hal Fishman was not an actor. He was a Los Angeles news anchor, on the air in that market continuously from 1960 until his death in 2007, a forty-seven year run in a job that usually chews people up faster. Born in Brooklyn, he became so completely the voice of local television in southern California that The Simpsons borrowed pieces of him when it built Kent Brockman.
That is also the entire explanation for his filmography. Every credit here is a newsreader, because a real anchor reading a fake bulletin does something a hired actor cannot: he makes the disaster sound like it is already on your own television. He is the network anchorman in Wisdom in 1986, Hal in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, himself in both National Security and Malibu's Most Wanted, and the anchorman in Spider-Man 3, released the year he died.
Five credits, no arc, no reinvention. The career was the newsdesk, and the movies borrowed its credibility a few seconds at a time.

Where to start with Hal Fishman
Nothing here is a performance in the usual sense, so choose by the film around him. Spider-Man 3 is the largest audience he ever reached and the last of these, a few seconds of anchor voice in the middle of a blockbuster. Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles and Malibu's Most Wanted use him the same way, as the local face that tells a Los Angeles audience the joke is happening in their city. National Security puts his own name back on him. Go to Wisdom only if you want the earliest one, from 1986. The real work is in the newscasts, and none of it is a movie.
