Jermaine Rivers
Jermaine Rivers is an actor.
Television has a category of actor it depends on and rarely promotes: the one who turns up as a police officer, a detective, or a tactical team leader, sells three scenes of procedure, and leaves. Jermaine Lateef Rivers has done a great deal of that, and it is worth being honest that most of his credits sit in that shape. A SWAT team leader in Hangman. An Intergang sniper in Black Adam. Detective Danny Debarros in Interrogation.
The exception, and the reason people know the name, is Shatter in The Gifted, the Fox and Marvel series where he had a recurring character with something to play beyond function. He also had a run as Officer Carter on Devious Maids and appeared in Tyler Perry's If Loving You Is Wrong and The Haves and the Have Nots, none of which are among the credits listed here. In 2025 he spent six months on The Young and the Restless as Damian Kane.
More recently he took a named role in Mr. Crocket, a horror film with more ambition than budget. The trajectory is the ordinary working-actor one: steady, unglamorous, and dependent on somebody eventually writing him a lead.

Where to start with Jermaine Rivers
Two of these are worth your time and the rest are appearances. The Gifted is the place to start, since it is the only long-form work here that lets him build something across episodes rather than deliver information and exit.
Mr. Crocket is the more recent showcase, a horror picture where he plays a person rather than a function. It is uneven, but he is not the problem with it.
After that you are into small parts. Black Adam and Hangman are single-scene work, Interrogation is an interesting format experiment with him in a supporting seat, and Love at the Shore is a television romance that wants nothing from anyone. Start with the series and stop when the character names stop having surnames.
