Jhonen Vasquez

Jhonen C. Vasquez is an American cartoonist and screenwriter whose line work is instantly identifiable: spindly, cross-hatched, and composed like a nervous breakdown with a good eye. He created Johnny the Homicidal Maniac for Slave Labor Graphics in the 1990s, along with the spin-offs Squee! and I Feel Sick, then talked Nickelodeon into Invader Zim, a children's cartoon about an incompetent alien invader that was cancelled early and became a cult property big enough to bring back as a film and a comic series. He has also directed music videos, including work for Mindless Self Indulgence.
