Jim Cramer is an actor, born 1955.
He is in a film catalogue by accident of persona. James Joseph Cramer, born in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania in 1955, went from Harvard College and Harvard Law to Goldman Sachs, then ran his own hedge fund as founder and senior partner of Cramer Berkowitz, then co-founded TheStreet and wrote for it from 1996 to 2021. Television came after the money: Kudlow & Cramer from 2002 to 2005, then Mad Money on CNBC from 2005, plus anchoring duties on Squawk on the Street.
The screen credits here are three, and in all of them he is essentially playing Jim Cramer. That is a real skill, even if it is not acting. Films borrow a recognisable financial-news face for ninety seconds to make an invented company feel like it trades on a real exchange, and his delivery is distinctive enough to do that job instantly. The Iron Man appearance is the pure version of the transaction.
His actual body of work is books and broadcasting, not cinema. Confessions of a Street Addict in 2002, Real Money in 2005, Mad Money in 2006, Get Rich Carefully in 2013 and How to Make Money in Any Market in 2025. Where to start with Jim Cramer
Only one of these three is a film you would sit down for, and it is Iron Man. His moment is a cameo, and the reason it works is that a superhero film about an arms manufacturer needed a real financial broadcaster to make the company sound like it had a share price.
Mad Money needs a warning: it is the 2008 heist comedy that happens to share a name with his CNBC show, and he turns up in it as himself. Going in expecting a documentary about his programme will confuse you.
Springfield of Dreams: The Legend of Homer Simpson is the completist item, another self-appearance in a documentary. Beyond that, the work is on television five days a week and in a shelf of books, and none of that is catalogued here.
