Joe Kelly
Joe Kelly is a writer.
Joe Kelly writes, pencils and edits comics, and the run of titles behind him is a tour of the two big American publishers: Deadpool, Uncanny X-Men, Action Comics, JLA, The Amazing Spider-Man and Superman. The Deadpool work is the one people cite, and fairly, since a great deal of what the character now sounds like was set in that early ongoing series, before the voice hardened into a brand.
The screen work comes through Man of Action Studios, the creator group he belongs to alongside Joe Casey, and it is credited to the group rather than to any one member. That is worth saying plainly: the eight cartoons listed here are the studio's shows, from the original Ben 10 through its three successor series to Generator Rex, Marvel's Avengers, Sonic Prime and Bakugan. A page like this cannot separate one writer's episodes from another's, so treat the list as a shared body of work.
What that body of work has in common is a comics writer's instinct for structure inside a twenty-two-minute action-comedy format: a transformation gimmick that generates a new premise every week, and a cast that is allowed to age between series rather than reset.

Where to start with Joe Kelly
Ben 10: Alien Force is the one I would start with rather than the original, because it is the decision that makes the franchise unusual: the same character, three years older, in a show that grows up alongside the audience that watched the first one. Very few children's cartoons take that risk.
Then go back to Ben 10 for the cleaner, funnier version of the premise, and forward to Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse to see how far a single idea can be stretched before it changes shape entirely. Outside that franchise, Generator Rex is the strangest and most striking of the group's shows, Sonic Prime is the most confident piece of animation, and Bakugan is the most straightforwardly commercial.
