John Frusciante
John Frusciante is an actor, born 1970.
John Frusciante joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers at eighteen, left at twenty two in the middle of the band's first real success, spent several years in serious addiction, returned in 1998 for the run of albums that made them a stadium act, left again in 2009, and returned once more in 2019. The guitar playing is why people care: melodic, restrained and far more interested in a countermelody than a solo. He has also released eleven solo albums that sound almost nothing like the band.

Where to start with John Frusciante
To Record Only Water for Ten Days is the solo album the catalogue holds, made after he got clean and the most approachable of the early ones. The rest here is documentary: Coachella and Paris 2024 Olympic Closing Ceremony catch the band live, and Behind the Music and The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel cover the history.
