Kenichirou Matsuda
Kenichirou Matsuda is an actor, born 1978.
In Spy x Family, Kenichirou Matsuda is both the narrator and the dog. That is a fair summary of a Japanese voice career built on the lowest register in the room: he gets hired when a production needs weight, and weight can mean a warhorse, an authority figure, a monster, or a very large animal who thinks in pictures.
Born in Saitama in 1978 and affiliated with Arts Vision, he took on Batou across the Ghost in the Shell: Arise series and the film that followed, which is the most exposed assignment of his career, a character carrying decades of prior interpretation. The role most people name is Thors in Vinland Saga, a former warrior who has put down the sword and has to keep making that choice in front of people who would rather he picked it up. Matsuda plays him slow, tired and immovable, and the performance carries most of the show's argument.
Elsewhere the range is wider than the type suggests. Gordon Agrippa in Black Clover is a character built entirely on muttering. Kang Horyang in Tower of God and Marmas in The Seven Deadly Sins are straight combat roles. He is the Bat Devil in Chainsaw Man, Behemoth in a Sword Art Online feature, Iggy Cygnus in the Blade Runner anime short, and he has a part in The First Slam Dunk. Deep into a long career, he is one of those voice actors whose name means nothing to a general audience and who appears in nearly everything that audience has watched.

Where to start with Kenichirou Matsuda
For a fast read on what he does, put on Vinland Saga. The show bends around Thors, and Matsuda gives a man built for violence a voice with all the aggression drained out of it; you can hear exactly what that restraint costs him.
The comfortable entry point is SPY x FAMILY, where he narrates and also plays Bond, and it is genuinely funny to hear a voice that grave attached to a dog. SPY x FAMILY CODE: White continues both jobs.
For the harder material, Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border 1: Ghost Pain opens his run as Batou and Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie closes it. Black Clover is the long shonen commitment, with Gordon a reliable pleasure inside it, while Chainsaw Man and Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 are short sharp sightings, the second of them a standalone short film and worth the detour.
The big men
That very low voice gets cast as the enormous, quiet, dangerous one. Thors in Vinland Saga is the best of them, a former warrior trying to be a farmer, and almost the whole performance is restraint.
Ghost in the Shell
He is Batou across the entire Arise sequence and the film that followed, which is a lot of hours with one of the medium's most recognisable characters. It is the most sustained single role on his list.
Narration and the recent hits
Narration is its own discipline in Japan and he is one of the voices that does it. Spy x Family uses him as both narrator and Bond the dog, and the recent film work is as busy as anything earlier.
