Lisa Stansfield
Lisa Stansfield is an English singer and songwriter, born in Manchester in 1966, who won a television talent contest at fourteen and presented a music show as a teenager before forming the band Blue Zone. All Around the World in 1989 went to number one in Britain and the top three in America, and established a very particular thing: a woman from Rochdale singing soul convincingly enough to be played on American R&B radio. She has also acted on screen and stage.

Where to start with Lisa Stansfield
The Edge of Love is the film role, a Dylan Thomas drama in which she has a small part. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert is the 1992 Wembley show where she sang All the Young Dudes, and Freddie Mercury: The Final Act is the documentary revisiting it. Going Live! and The BRIT Awards are the British television appearances.
