María Onetto
The theatre came first for María Onetto, and in Argentina that is where her standing was established: the 2011 Konex Award recognised her stage work, and in the same year she directed a local production of the rock musical Passing Strange.
Screen audiences at home met her through Montecristo, the 2006 series in which she played Leticia Monserrat, and which brought her the Clarín and Martín Fierro awards for best actress in drama and for rising star. Viewers outside Argentina are most likely to have seen her in Wild Tales, as Helena in the segment "La propuesta", the story of a wealthy family trying to buy its way out of a hit and run. She also played Clara Villalba in the thriller Perdida.
