Mic Rodgers
Rodgers works on the side of the camera that does not get billed. He is a stunt performer, stunt coordinator, second unit director and director, and he doubled Mel Gibson, a job that means being hit, dropped and thrown so a star does not have to be.
The credits collected here are the visible residue of that work: bit parts, most of them uncredited. A Russian soldier in Rambo III. A cop at a bomb scene in Lethal Weapon 3. Sergeant Kimble in Dead Bang, one of the few with a name. A cop in Point of No Return, a big biker in Universal Soldier: The Return, a bus driver in The Shaggy Dog, one of several police officers in Lucy in the Sky. Stunt people end up on screen this way constantly, because whoever can take the fall is already dressed for the scene.
The work he is genuinely known for, second unit and stunt coordination on films including Braveheart and Twister, is not among the credits listed here, and neither is the thing that got him an Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 2002: a purpose-built stunt vehicle called the Mic Rig.

Where to start with Mic Rodgers
There is no natural entry point in an acting sense, so choose by film. Lethal Weapon 3 is the sensible first stop, since Gibson is the star he doubled and Rodgers is in the frame as an uncredited cop at a bomb scene.
Rambo III and Dead Bang are the late-eighties action jobs, the second giving him an actual character name. Point of No Return and Universal Soldier: The Return are the nineties equivalents. Maniac and Lucy in the Sky are the strange modern ones, and The Shaggy Dog puts him behind a bus wheel in a family comedy. Watch any of them for the stunt work rather than for him and you will be watching the right thing.
