Michael Redgrave

Sir Michael Scudamore Redgrave was an English actor and filmmaker. Beginning his career in theatre, he first appeared in the West End in 1937. He made his film debut in Alfred Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes in 1938. He and his contemporaries John Gielgud, Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson made up a quartet of male actors who dominated the British stage of the mid-20th century.
