Mitsuki Saiga
Mitsuki Saiga is an actor, born 1973.
Low, dry and slightly rough: the voice is identifiable inside a line, and the industry has spent nearly thirty years pointing it at boys and young men. Rossiu Adai in Gurren Lagann, Tsukasa in .hack, MakubeX in GetBackers, Teito Klein in 07-Ghost, Raven in Zoids: Chaotic Century, Kahaku in To Your Eternity. Saiga is affiliated with Ken Production.
That casting logic has a real advantage. A boy voiced by an adult woman can carry adolescent uncertainty and adult weight in the same sentence, which is exactly what a character like Rossiu needs, and Saiga is unusually good at playing a young character under pressure without softening him for the audience.
She works the other side too, on women written with authority or menace: Yelena in Attack on Titan, Belaf in Made in Abyss, Chie Harada in My-Hime, Maria Ross in Fullmetal Alchemist, Benio Amakusa in Ouran High School Host Club. Games have used her heavily as well, including Tiz Arrior in Bravely Default and Morag in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, neither of which sits in this catalog.
Her earliest credit here is a computer voice in Cowboy Bebop in 1998, which is a fitting place for a career to start given how much of it has been about voices that do not match the body attached to them. She is still turning up in current shows, from Gachiakuta in 2025 to Witch Hat Atelier.

Where to start with Mitsuki Saiga
The best demonstration is Gurren Lagann, and it is also the most fun watch: Rossiu is the show's most divisive character and she plays every stage of him without begging for sympathy. Go to 07-Ghost if you want her carrying a lead outright. Attack on Titan is where most current viewers will have heard her, as Yelena, and the performance is genuinely unsettling in a show with plenty of competition for that. Made in Abyss uses her strangeness well. For the softer end, Skip and Loafer is a good corrective and shows how gentle the same instrument can be. Cowboy Bebop holds her earliest credit here, though it is an incidental part and only worth noting as a starting line.
