Nana Mizuki
Nana Mizuki is an actor, born 1980.
Nana Mizuki was born Nana Kondo in Niihama, Ehime, and trained as an enka singer as a child, releasing a single under her birth name in 1993 before making her voice acting debut in 1997. The two careers have run in parallel ever since, and she is represented by the agency StarCrew.
Her most famous role is her quietest. Hinata in Naruto, from 2002 through Shippuden, the films and into Boruto, is largely delivered in a mumble, a character whose defining trait is not being able to get the words out. Twenty years of a lead franchise part played mostly under her breath is a strange thing to be known for, and she makes it work by keeping the volume down long past the point where most performers would give the audience a reward.
Away from that she is usually cast feral. Wrath in the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist, Riful in Claymore, Saya in Blood-C, Ange in Cross Ange, Moka in Rosario and Vampire: all of them loud, unstable, and pitched a long way from Hinata. In between sit the ones that show the actual range, Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Taeko in Paranoia Agent, Ann Takamaki in the Persona 5 anime, Vanessa in Black Clover, Seiko in Dan Da Dan. She also voiced Tamao in both the 2001 and 2021 Shaman King adaptations, Fate Testarossa in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Tsubasa in Symphogear and Colette in Tales of Symphonia.

Where to start with Nana Mizuki
The obvious route is Naruto into Naruto Shippūden, and it is the right one if you want the role she is known for, though it asks for hundreds of episodes to get a character who speaks in fragments. The Last: Naruto the Movie is the compressed alternative if hundreds of episodes is too much, since it hands Hinata more to do in two hours than the series manages in a decade.
Elsewhere means Fullmetal Alchemist, where Wrath is unhinged and she is clearly enjoying it, and Claymore, where Riful is the same energy sharpened and the show gives her far more to chew on.
The grown-up work is easier to recommend: Paranoia Agent for a small, sad performance in a very good series, PERSONA5 the Animation for the most likeable thing on the list, and Dan Da Dan for recent proof that she can still land comic timing.
Naruto and the Hinata years
Nearly twenty years in one part, and Hinata changes more across it than almost any other character in the series. The Last is the film that finally makes her the lead, and it is the best showcase for what Mizuki does with her.
The action leads
The darker end of her work, and Claymore is the one to seek out: a bleak series that never got a proper conclusion and is worth the time regardless. Blood-C and Hell Girl run the same register.
The big ensemble series
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the best-made show she appears in, and she is in both television versions of it. Dan Da Dan is the current one, and Black Clover is the long-running commitment.
