Nathan Mitchell
Nathan Mitchell is an actor.
Almost everything Nathan Mitchell is known for happens inside one Amazon series. He joined The Boys in 2019 as Earving, better known by the codename Black Noir, and later played a second version of the character, Black Noir II. It is an unusual job for an actor. The costume covers him completely, so the performance runs on stance, timing and the willingness to hold still while everyone else in the frame is shouting.
Before that he worked the Canadian genre circuit, which is the quiet engine room of North American television. He turned up on The Tomorrow People in 2013 billed as a Scary Ultra Agent, played Cole in The Marine 5: Battleground, the fifth entry in a direct to video action series, and appeared as Zee in Scorched Earth. His credit in Psych: The Movie reads Black Gentleman Ninja, which tells you roughly what the casting brief looked like in those years.
Since 2021 he has also played Zion Miller on Netflix's Ginny & Georgia, a father in an ordinary town with an ordinary set of problems, which after several years behind a mask counts as a genuine change of register. The record here is short, six credits deep, and one of them is a role a lot of actors would trade a decade of speaking parts for.

Where to start with Nathan Mitchell
There is no version of this career that does not run through The Boys, so begin there. Watch what he does with the constraint: no face, very little dialogue, and a character who still reads as the most dangerous person in the room. It is a physical performance in a show that mostly runs on dialogue, and it works.
Then take Ginny & Georgia as the corrective. Zion Miller is warm, verbal and unarmoured, and it is useful to see the same actor with all his tools available.
Everything else is completist territory. Psych: The Movie is a fond reunion special for people who already love the show. The Tomorrow People and Scorched Earth are the sort of genre work that pays rent between the parts that matter, and The Marine 5: Battleground is exactly what its number implies.
