Downs, an American actor from Des Moines, is a church attendant in Constantine (2005), appears in The Girl Next Door (2004) as a performer in a 1970s sex-education film, and had a small role in Pearl Harbor (2001), which is not among the credits listed here. Those are the jobs that keep a working actor working.
The lead is Is It Just Me? (2010), a low-budget gay romantic comedy in which he plays Blaine, a lonely columnist whose online conversation gets credited to somebody else. The budget shows in every frame, and the film is still made with real affection for its characters; it remains the most substantial thing he has carried. He also worked on 16 to Life and Anderson's Cross, and appeared in episodes of Cold Case and Boston Public.

Where to start with Nicholas Downs
Only one of these is really about him. Is It Just Me? is where he carries a film, and it is worth an evening if you have any patience for the small, sincere end of romantic comedy; it was made for an audience that had very little else available at the time, and it knows that. Everything else is spotting. Constantine and The Girl Next Door are the studio pictures, and he is in and out of both quickly. Honey Do List and Deadly Infidelity are late independent work aimed at viewers who already know the face. Start with the lead, and do not expect the rest to build on it.
