Nick Thurston
Nick Thurston is an actor, born 1987.
The training came first and it was thorough: the American Conservatory Theater, the British American Drama Academy in London, then a degree in acting from the University of Southern California. Nick Thurston grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and worked in independent film after graduating, including Reviving Ophelia, White Irish Drinkers and Not for Human Consumption.
The credit that changed the scale of things is Blue Eyes in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), the film's second ape lead, played through performance capture in a blockbuster where that technique carries the drama rather than decorating it. Acting a whole character through a digital face is harder than the finished effect makes it look.
The list since is short: a voice part in the animated Luck (2022) and Agent Jeremy O'Mackey in The Last Thing He Told Me (2023). Four credits are not much to judge a career on, and the honest summary is that one of them is very good.

Where to start with Nick Thurston
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the only real answer, and it happens to be the best film in its trilogy: a sober, unusually adult blockbuster about two communities talking themselves out of peace. Thurston plays the second ape lead and holds the frame in scenes with far more experienced performers.
After that the choices thin out fast. The Last Thing He Told Me is a competent limited series and gives him a straightforward adult role on camera. Luck is children's animation with a voice credit attached. Stay Cool is an early bit part for completists only.
