Peter Dreimanis

Peter Dreimanis is an actor.

The band is the main job. Peter Dreimanis is a Canadian musician who acts occasionally: he is one of the two front singers in July Talk, the Toronto alternative rock band formed in 2012, sharing the microphone with Leah Fay Goldstein alongside guitarist Ian Docherty, bassist Josh Warburton and drummer Danny Miles. The self-titled debut came out in October 2012 on Sleepless Records, and Touch followed in September 2016.

The screen work is scattered and small. He was in The Dirties in 2013, the Canadian mockumentary where his credit reads as a student lurking with a camera, which tells you most of what the film is doing. He turns up in 2025's Sinners as Bert, easily the highest-profile thing he has appeared in. There is also an early part in the Toronto comedy series Nirvana the Band the Show, named for the arson it involves.

Where to start with Peter Dreimanis

Three credits, and only one of them is really a performance to seek out. Sinners is the reason most people land on this page, a 2025 feature where he plays Bert, and it is a considerable step up in scale from anything else here.

The Dirties is the more interesting film, a low-budget Canadian mockumentary made by people the same age as its characters, and his credit there, a student lurking with a camera, is the whole aesthetic in five words. Nirvana the Band the Show is a local-comedy footnote and plays like one.

If you want the actual work, put on a July Talk record instead.
