Peter Shinkoda is an actor, born 1971.
Peter Shinkoda is a Canadian actor from Montreal, born in 1971, with two roles worth the trip and a filmography that is otherwise a study in how small parts get written. He played Dai across the Spielberg-produced TNT series Falling Skies, Sektor in the Warner Bros. web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, and, best of all, the recurring villain Nobu Yoshioka in the first two seasons of Marvel's Daredevil.
Nobu is the one. He is a negotiator before he is a fighter, and Shinkoda plays those scenes with a stillness that makes everyone else in the room look like they are trying too hard. When the character finally moves, the show has already spent hours telling you not to want that.
The rest of the credits are honest about the industry. For twenty years he was cast as a function rather than a person: Suit in Paycheck, Chin in I, Robot, a technician in Godzilla, a Japanese athlete in Miracle, a young cop in The Hole. The recent work at least gives him names and ranks, Commander Minoru Genda in Midway, Sergeant Ishinabe in The Terror, Lieutenant Colonel Benjiro Ito in Prisoner of War, which is a modest kind of progress but a real one.

Where to start with Peter Shinkoda
You are here for Marvel's Daredevil, specifically its first two seasons. Nobu barely raises his voice and is still the most alarming thing in a show full of people who shout.
After that, Falling Skies is the long-form work, alien-invasion television in which Dai is a fighter with a quiet interior life that the writing occasionally remembers.
The Terror is the best-made thing he appears in, an anthology horror series where even the small parts are cast properly, and Midway gives him a real historical figure to sit inside. I, Robot and Godzilla are blink-and-miss credits, useful only if you enjoy spotting him.
