Peter Tomasi
Peter J. Tomasi is an American comics editor and writer whose fingerprints are all over two decades of DC Comics. As an editor he oversaw the Justice League line and the solo books around it, including Batman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and the Flash. As a writer he is associated with the Batman family, particularly Batman and Robin, with The Outsiders, and with the Green Lantern corner of the universe through Emerald Warriors, Blackest Night and Brightest Day. He also wrote the screenplay for the animated feature The Death of Superman. Editors who write tend to build carefully, and he does.

Where to start with Peter Tomasi
Green Lantern is the natural start, since the Corps is the material he understands best and returns to most. Final crisis is the harder sell, a company wide event that assumes you already know the furniture; read it second, or not at all if crossovers annoy you. Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics is the documentary, and a decent primer on why DC's villains carry the line.
