Quincy Brown
Quincy Brown is an actor, born 1991.
He was a singer before he was an actor, and the music has never entirely let go. Quincy Brown, born in New York in 1991 and billed simply as Quincy when he sings, released his first lead vocal in 2012 and works as a dancer and model alongside the acting. He is the son of the model Kim Porter and the singer Al B. Sure!, which is context rather than explanation.
The acting has run in two directions at once. On television he took a co-starring role on the musical drama Star as Derek Jones, which is the credit that best matches what he already was, a performer who can sing and move on camera without the show having to fake it. Later he joined Power Book III: Raising Kanan as Crown Camacho, a considerably harder register and the better test of him as an actor.
In film, Dope is the outlier and the strongest thing on the list, a fast, funny coming of age comedy set in Inglewood where he plays Jaleel. The rest is Netflix Christmas: he is Josh Barton in The Holiday Calendar, and the same character reappears as archive footage in The Knight Before Christmas, a small piece of shared universe housekeeping that tells you a great deal about how those films get assembled.
It is still an early filmography, and the interesting question is which of the two directions he commits to.

Where to start with Quincy Brown
Watch Dope first, and not because his part is the biggest. It is a genuinely good film, quick and specific about a world most teen comedies flatten, and being useful inside an ensemble like that is a real credential.
Star is where to go next if you want the version of him the industry built. It is a music industry melodrama with the volume up, and Derek Jones lets him use the singing and the dancing rather than parking them.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan is the grown up option and the most convincing evidence that the acting is a career rather than an extension of the music. The Holiday Calendar is exactly what it looks like, a Netflix Christmas romance, and it is perfectly pleasant at the right time of year.
