Rebecca Breeds
Rebecca Breeds is an actor, born 1987.
Australian soap opera is a training system, and Breeds came through it. Born in Sydney, she took an early role on Blue Water High as Cassie Cometti, then spent four years from 2008 to 2012 as Ruby Buckton on Home and Away, a role not among the credits listed here. That is years of daily television, which teaches an actor to hit a mark and land a scene on the first take, and it shows in how economical she is.
The American move brought the usual genre apprenticeship. She played Aurora de Martel in the third season of The Originals and continued the character into its spin-off Legacies, and had a supporting run as Nicole Gordon on Pretty Little Liars, neither of which sits in the credits here. The Brave gave her a military-drama regular, Megan James, and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag a small part as Stella in a very large Indian sports biopic.
The lead came in 2021 with Clarice, and it was close to an impossible assignment: play Clarice Starling one of the most famous performances in American film, on network television, with an Australian actor's accent to bury. She underplays it, which is the right call, and builds the character around exhaustion rather than steel. The show lasted a single season and deserved better than the shrug it got.

Where to start with Rebecca Breeds
Clarice carries the weight here, and it is the reason to be on this page. Go in without measuring it against the film it follows and you get a solid, sombre procedural with a lead performance built on wariness rather than bravado. One season, so it costs you nothing to try.
The Originals is the other substantial role, and her arc as Aurora de Martel is the most fun she is allowed to have anywhere in this list, gothic and broad in the way that show wanted. The Brave is competent network drama, Blue Water High is the teenage Australian starting point and a genuine curiosity if you have followed her since, and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a good film in which she has a very small role.
