Rob Gronkowski
Eleven seasons at tight end, nine with the New England Patriots and two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, four Super Bowl rings, five Pro Bowls, four first-team All-Pro selections, and places on both the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and the 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. That is the actual career, and every screen credit here is downstream of it.
The filmography is mostly Gronk playing Gronk. He appears as himself in Entourage, The Clapper, The Instigators and Animal Control, turns up on Beat Shazam and WWE Backstage, and takes the roast-dais seat at The Roast of Tom Brady. Casting directors are buying a recognisable silhouette and a specific comic energy, the large man who is in on the joke, and they get exactly that.
The exception is worth noting. In Boss Level he plays Gunner, one of a squad of assassins in a time-loop action film, and the part works because it wants a physical threat with a punchline rather than a performance. Smaller character roles exist too: Brad in American Violence, a party guy in Deported, an inconvenienced customer in Good Burger 2, and Nickey in the 2026 film The Roaring Game.
He is not an actor with range and the credits are honest about that. What he is, reliably, is a very good sport, and the films that use him as a blunt instrument get more out of him than the ones that ask for a character.

Where to start with Rob Gronkowski
Set aside the cameos for a moment and watch Boss Level. It is the only credit here that gives him something to do beyond arriving as himself, and the film's cheerful nastiness suits him. He plays Gunner, gets a proper action beat, and the movie never asks him to carry a scene alone.
After that, the self-parody run is genuinely the good stuff: Entourage and The Clapper both trade on the persona, and The Instigators gives him a sharper director to bounce off. Animal Control is the sitcom version, Good Burger 2 the family-comedy version, and The Roast of Tom Brady the one where he is funniest, because roasting is closer to his natural register than acting is.
