The best single showcase is The Mothman Prophecies, where his Dr. Williams gets to be the voice of medical reason inside a film steadily losing its grip on reason, and the scene lands precisely because he plays it straight.
From there, The Dark Half for another clinical role in a Stephen King adaptation that needs someone credible to sell an impossible diagnosis, and Innocent Blood for the coroner in a vampire comedy where the examination table is the joke. Welcome to Collinwood is the loosest of them, a Cleveland-set heist comedy with a good ensemble and a janitor funnier than the line count suggests. The Ides of March and Telling Lies in America fill in the serious end, and Roommates is the sentimental one. These are supporting parts throughout, so start anywhere; the pleasure is recognition.
