Sadie Sink

Sadie Sink started on Broadway. She played the title role in Annie between 2012 and 2014 and young Elizabeth II in The Audience in 2015, which is an unusual pair of jobs to have finished before you are old enough to drive.

Screen work followed with the sports drama Chuck, and then Max Mayfield, whom she has played on Stranger Things since 2017. Max arrives into an established group as an outsider and stays slightly outside it, and Sink's contribution is that she never plays the character as wanting to be liked. It is a harder note to hold than the show gets credit for.

The choices since have leaned dark and physical rather than glossy. She was Ziggy Berman across the whole Fear Street trilogy, all three of which landed in 2021, doubling as Constance in the 1666 instalment. She was Ellie in The Whale, a teenager who arrives armed with contempt and refuses to put it down. She carried O'Dessa as the title character in 2025. Add the short film All Too Well, Eli, A Sacrifice and Dear Zoe, and the pattern is an actor deliberately avoiding the easy route out of a franchise.

Two entries at the end of the list are still blank: a 2026 Spider-Man film and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027, both credited without a character name. Whatever those turn out to be, she has already finished being a child actor.
