Takahiro Sakurai
Takahiro Sakurai is an actor, born 1974.
Takahiro Sakurai comes from Aichi Prefecture, was born in 1974, and works as a voice actor, narrator and radio personality. His voice sits in the tenor range, clean and unhurried, the kind of instrument that gets a young performer cast as heroes: Cloud Strife across the Final Fantasy VII material, Suzaku Kururugi in Code Geass, X in Mega Man X, Miyuki Kazuya in Ace of Diamond. He is also the official Japanese dub voice of Robert Pattinson, a job he has held since Twilight.
The interesting part is what happened when directors noticed that the same calm, courteous delivery works even better on people who are lying. Sakurai villains are not shouters. Griffith in the Berserk films is polite ambition with no floor under it. Shogo Makishima in Psycho-Pass reads philosophy at you in the voice of a man recommending a wine. Suguru Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen keeps his warmth exactly where it is while his position moves underneath it. Rohan Kishibe is arrogance delivered as reasonableness.
The best single performance is neither hero nor villain. Arataka Reigen in Mob Psycho 100 is a fraudulent exorcist with no powers at all, and Sakurai plays him as a salesman who genuinely believes his own patter about ninety percent of the time. It is a comic performance that keeps turning sincere without warning, which is a very hard thing to do with only a voice.
He has several hundred credits and shows no sign of slowing: Giyu Tomioka has carried him through the entire Demon Slayer run, television and features alike.

Where to start with Takahiro Sakurai
Mob Psycho 100 is the entry point, because Reigen is where his range is all on display in one character: a con man whose kindness is real and whose confidence is not.
For the hero voice at full strength, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and then Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, where Giyu speaks less than almost anyone in the cast and Sakurai has to carry him on flatness alone.
The villain side is the better half of his catalogue. Take Psycho-Pass first for the coldest, most controlled work he has done, then JUJUTSU KAISEN for a man whose charm never drops, then the Berserk films beginning with Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King. If you want to hear how far he can push amusement, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as Rohan.
The current flagship series
Giyu Tomioka is the role most listeners will know now, and it shows how much he conveys while saying very little. The Mugen Train film is the highest-profile single appearance anywhere in his work, and Jujutsu Kaisen runs a completely different register.
Sakurai playing charm and menace
The versatility is the point: a cheerful idiot and a genuinely frightening antagonist that do not sound related. The Seven Deadly Sins and Code Geass sit at opposite ends, and Tokyo Ghoul is the darkest.
The long-running shonen and the game work
Cloud Strife is his outside anime, and Advent Children is where most Western listeners first heard him without knowing it. Black Clover, Fairy Tail and Digimon are the long series that keep him working continuously.
