The Alan Parsons Project

The Alan Parsons Project is a musician.

The Alan Parsons Project were a British rock duo formed in London in 1975 by the producer and engineer Alan Parsons and the singer and songwriter Eric Woolfson. Parsons had engineered Abbey Road and The Dark Side of the Moon before deciding to make records where the studio itself was the instrument and the vocalists rotated song by song. Woolfson wrote most of the melodies and sang some of the biggest of them. The result was a run of concept albums through the late seventies and eighties, on themes from Edgar Allan Poe to Antoni Gaudi, that sold heavily without a fixed lineup or a touring band.

Where to start with The Alan Parsons Project

I Robot is the best place to start, the point where the concept and the production line up. Eye in the Sky is the commercial peak and the one with the hits. Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe is the strange debut built on Poe, and The Turn of a Friendly Card is the most cohesive album they made.
