Yuuichirou Umehara
Yuuichirou Umehara is an actor, born 1991.
Umehara works in the hardest corner of voice acting: characters who do not emote. His signature role, the title figure in Goblin Slayer, spends most of the series inside a helmet, so the performance has to arrive entirely through a flat, careful, unhurried voice that treats slaughter as an errand. It works because he never sells it.
The rest of the filmography is a study in what that same instrument does when the writing turns on it. In Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious the joke is that the unflappable hero voice belongs to a man who over-prepares for everything, and the comedy comes from the delivery refusing to acknowledge the absurdity. In The Misfit of Demon King Academy the same low register plays absolute and slightly bored omnipotence. As Weather Report in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean he is the quiet one in a cast that is never quiet, and in High-Rise Invasion the mask does the acting again.
He is an Arts Vision actor with the volume of work that implies: Jugram Haschwalth in Bleach, Gorou in DARLING in the FRANXX, Kureno Soma in Fruits Basket, Siegfried Kircheis in The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, Manabu Horikita in Classroom of the Elite, the Courier in Akudama Drive, the Joker in Suicide Squad Isekai. Young Black Jack, an early lead, is where the range first showed. The one thing he is rarely asked to be is loud.

Where to start with Yuuichirou Umehara
Watch Goblin Slayer first, because it is the role built around his voice: the character is armoured, masked and monotone, so everything you are meant to feel about him has to come from timing. Follow it with Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, the comic inversion of the same delivery, and much funnier than its title deserves.
For range, The Misfit of Demon King Academy and High-Rise Invasion are the power-fantasy and horror versions of that restraint. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Akudama Drive both cast him as the calmest person in a very loud show, which is where he is most useful.
Young Black Jack is the early lead worth digging out. Skip Kaguya-sama: Love Is War if you are here for him specifically, since the credit is a walk-on.
