These are the animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, a rebooted screen take on Greg Heffley, the scrawny, scheming middle-schooler with big plans and worse luck. Starting with the 2021 film, this run swaps live action for animation that mimics the doodly style of the original books.
The entries follow Greg through familiar middle-school misery: a torment-filled school year with his older brother Rodrick, a chaotic family Christmas, and the gap between his grand ambitions and his dad's expectations. It is a movie-only branch of the broader Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise, aimed at kids and built on Greg's reliably self-defeating schemes.
The The Animated Films franchise spans 4 movies in the CrossBinge catalog.
