Bodacious Space Pirates is a 2012 Japanese-language animation series created by Yuichi Sasamoto. It stars Shizuka Itoh, Keiji Fujiwara and Mikako Komatsu.
Marika is a high school student living on a planet known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her deceased father was the captain of the space pirate ship called the "Bentenmaru". More importantly, the one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant, meaning that Marika is now the captain of the ship.
