Californication (2007)
Californication is a 2007 comedy series created by Tom Kapinos. It stars David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone and Evan Handler.
A self-loathing, alcoholic writer attempts to repair his damaged relationships with his daughter and her mother while combating sex addiction, a budding drug problem, and the seeming inability to avoid making bad decisions.

Reviews
Duchovny playing a version of himself that's a mess in all the ways that are fun to watch. Probably shouldn't be as likeable as it is. Ran a bit long across the full run but the early seasons are really sharp.
