Kaguya-sama: Love Is War (2015)

Confession is surrender. Two clever people believe that, and neither will move first, so their courtship becomes a siege fought in small daily encounters.

Aka Akasaka wrote and drew the series as a comedy of strategy. Each chapter sets a trap: an offhand question, a favour offered at the wrong moment, an invitation phrased to cost nothing if refused. Both sides read the move, counter it, and lose in some fresh way. The psychological tag in the genre list earns itself, since the jokes run on cold reasoning applied to feelings neither party will admit to, and that logic keeps the slice-of-life material from going soft.

The serialization has an arc of its own. Shueisha launched the series in the seinen magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015, gave it a short first run there, then moved it to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016, where it continued until November 2022. Twenty-eight tankobon volumes in all, with Viz Media publishing the English edition in North America.
