Armed and Dangerous (2003)

Armed and Dangerous is a 2003 shooter video game made by Planet Moon Studios.

A robot, a madman, a mole, and a criminal mastermind walk into a war. Armed and Dangerous is a comic third-person shooter that drops this band of misfit rebels into a lush fantasy kingdom with one job: pull off the biggest heist going, in the middle of a losing battle. You blast through enemy soldiers, giant war machines, and armies of unhinged robots using guns with names as ridiculous as their effects, from a Land Shark to a device that literally tips the whole battlefield sideways. The tone is loud, silly, and gleefully over the top from the first shot.

A few thoughts on Armed and Dangerous

For players who want their shooting served with jokes and absurd weapons. If the anything-goes comedy clicks, Portal 2 pairs inventive gadgets with some of gaming's funniest writing, another game that never takes itself too seriously.

Heist crews pulling off the impossible

Armed and Dangerous sends a band of misfits to steal the biggest prize going in the middle of a losing war. These films chase the same reckless-heist energy, assembling crews of specialists and lunatics for scores that should never work, and half the fun is watching the plan fall apart.

Explosive action with a sense of humor

The game plays its war for laughs, handing you weapons as ridiculous as a Land Shark and a device that tips the battlefield sideways. These games share that comic streak, pairing big, silly firepower with writing that never takes the carnage too seriously.
