Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (2009)

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a 2009 adventure video game made by Climax Studios.

Harry Mason drives into Silent Hill looking for his daughter Cheryl after a car accident scatters them apart. Shattered Memories is a reimagining of the original game, not a sequel, and it makes clear early that something other than the town is being examined here. A therapist conducts psychological profiling sessions between gameplay chapters, and the game reshapes its environments, color palettes, and creature designs based on the player's responses. There is no combat: Harry runs, hides, and endures. The icy alternate dimension replaces the series' familiar rust-and-blood nightmare.
