The Woman in the Rumor is a 1954 Japanese-language drama movie directed by Kenji Mizoguchi, with a running time of 1h 24m. It stars Kinuyo Tanaka, Tomiemon Otomo and Yoshiko Kuga.
After living a traumatic experience in Tokyo, Yukiko returns to Kyoto, where Hatsuko, her mother, runs a brothel, which upsets Yukiko very much.
