Ted Chiang

Ted Chiang is an American science fiction writer who has published a small body of stories across three decades and won four Nebulas, four Hugos, six Locus awards and the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer with them. His two collections are Stories of Your Life and Others and Exhalation. The story that made him famous outside the field, Story of Your Life, became the film Arrival. He builds each story around a premise taken absolutely literally, then works out what it would do to the people living inside it. He also writes non-fiction about computing and artificial intelligence for the New Yorker.
