Battlefield
Battlefield is DICE's answer to a simple question: what if a shooter cared more about the battlefield than the individual soldier? Since the mid-2000s the series has built its identity on huge multiplayer maps, combined-arms vehicle warfare, and destructible terrain that rewrites cover mid-firefight.
The lineage runs from the PC-defining Battlefield 2 and the science-fiction detour of 2142, through the more cinematic, demolition-happy Bad Company campaigns, into the period settings of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V, the live-service stumble of 2042, and the return-to-form intent of Battlefield 6.
This is a games-only franchise, and it earns that focus. Battlefield is at its best as systems and sandbox, where a collapsing building or a stolen helicopter does more storytelling than any cutscene.
The Battlefield franchise spans 14 games in the CrossBinge catalog.
