Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot was Sony's unofficial mascot for the original PlayStation, a manic marsupial built by Naughty Dog to show off what the hardware could do. The first three games, capped by 1998's Warped, refined a distinctive into-the-screen platforming style, full of spinning attacks, hoarded Wumpa fruit and the cackling Doctor Neo Cortex.
After Naughty Dog moved on, the series scattered across genres and studios, spinning off the beloved Crash Team Racing and party games like Crash Bash before drifting through a long, uneven middle. Its modern revival, the faithful N. Sane Trilogy remasters and 2020's Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, treated that original run as sacred text. This is platforming at its most colorful and unforgiving, a series that lives or dies on tight controls and personality.
The Crash Bandicoot franchise spans 14 games in the CrossBinge catalog.
