Hitman
IO Interactive built Hitman around a single, unforgettable silhouette: Agent 47, the barcoded contract killer in a tailored suit. The games, running from Codename 47 in 2000 through Hitman 3 in 2021, turned assassination into a puzzle box. Each level is a working diorama of guards, routines and disguises, and the pleasure lies in finding the one absurd or invisible way to make a death look like an accident.
The series found its truest form in the World of Assassination trilogy, where huge sandbox locations rewarded patience and experimentation over gunplay. Beyond the games, two feature films (2007 and 2015) tried to translate 47 to live action with mixed results, while Jesper Kyd's brooding electronic scores, collected on releases like the Blood Money soundtrack, gave the series its cold, clinical mood.
The Hitman franchise spans 12 games, 2 films, 2 music in the CrossBinge catalog.
