Sly Cooper

Sly Cooper is the quiet third member of the PlayStation 2's mascot-platformer trio, less famous than its stablemates but arguably the most stylish. Sucker Punch built the original Thievius Raccoonus around a heist fantasy: a raccoon descended from a line of master thieves, stealing only from other criminals, rendered in a crisp cel-shaded look that still reads as a comic book in motion.

The series leaned hard into that caper identity. Band of Thieves and Honor Among Thieves opened up the levels and turned Sly's crew, the brainy turtle Bentley and the muscle, Murray, into playable specialists with their own jobs to pull. After a long gap, Sanzaru Games revived the series with Thieves in Time, a love letter that scattered the gang across history. Sly also earned a slot on the roster of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
