Nihon Falcom's Ys is action role-playing at its most kinetic, a series defined by fast, dodge-and-strike combat and the wanderings of red-haired adventurer Adol Christin. This collection gathers the modern run, from the Ark of Napishtim through the open-ended exploration of Lacrimosa of Dana and the urban gothic of Monstrum Nox.

Ys has always been a remake-and-reinvent franchise, which makes its play order genuinely confusing. Origin is a prequel set centuries before Adol is born, while Oath in Felghana and Memories of Celceta are ground-up rebuilds of older entries. Story matters less here than momentum: tight dungeons, escalating boss fights, and some of the best soundtracks Falcom's sound team has ever produced. Few series make moving and fighting feel this good.
